Dr. Marc Schenker is the Director of UC Davis’ Center for Occupation and Environmental Health (COEH), Migration and Health Research Center (MAHRC), UC Global Health Institute Center of Expertise on Migration and Health (UCGHI COEMH), and the Western Center for Agricultural Health and Safety. Dr. Schenker received an MD from UC San Francisco and MPH from Harvard. With over 25 years of experience directing and conducting epidemiologic research and in administrative leadership positions, Dr. Schenker’s research now focuses on the interaction of immigration, acculturation, and occupation on the health of immigrants, with specific attention to Latino farm worker families. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Preventive Medicine. His interests include international issues in occupational and environmental health. He recently completed studies on immigration and pregnancy outcome among Latinas and a binational health study of Hispanic women in California and Mexico. Dr. Schenker has published over 150 scientific articles and edited five textbooks.
