The UC Davis Center for Occupational and Environmental Health maintains state contracts that codify a longstanding partnership between the California Department of Public Health and UC Davis.
Division of Communicable Disease Control (DCDC)
The Division of Communicable Disease Control works to promptly identify, prevent, and control infectious diseases that pose a threat to public health, including emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, vaccine-preventable agents, bacterial toxins, bioterrorism, and pandemics. Through our contract, UC Davis COEH provides qualified personnel to assist DCDC with disease surveillance and prevention, which includes the continuation of aggregating and analyzing data and the continued development of public health action plans and recommendations utilizing CalREDIE and CaLIMS.

Emergency Response Preparedness Office (EPO)
The Emergency Preparedness Office coordinates overall planning and preparedness efforts for the California Department of Public Health. Its focus is on threats that can become public health emergencies in the state. Through our contract, UC Davis COEH provides qualified personnel to assist EPO with planning activities to prepare Californians for public health emergencies including; drills and exercise scenarios; planning for the Strategic National Stockpile; crisis response; statewide disaster planning; and develops publications and information regarding the distribution of various contracts and funds to local health departments.

Genetic Disease Screening Program (GDSP)
The Genetic Disease Screening Program (GDSP) of the California Department of Public Health works to protect and improve the health of all Californians. The mission of the Genetic Disease Screening Program is: "To serve the people of California by reducing the emotional and financial burden of disability and death caused by genetic and congenital disorders." UC Davis COEH is contracted to provide qualified personnel that support mission critical program expansion activities of the GDSP.
