Bio

Jen Biddle is a digital strategist and health communicator with 20 years of experience in journalism and digital media. A Bay Area native, she studied journalism at the University of Wisconsin-Madison before returning to San Francisco, where a chance aeronautics class sparked her interest in science and led her to become an FAA-licensed aircraft mechanic. She went on to work in the aerospace and airline industries before shifting back to media work and building a career across health websites as an editorial researcher, writer, video producer, and editor.

Now based in Sacramento, she develops digital strategy and communications for UC Davis’s Center for Occupational and Environmental Health and Environmental Health Sciences Center. Her work at the university has earned recognition from the National Academies of Sciences, American Public Health Association, and the Northern California Emmys.

Becoming a digital strategist was a natural progression for Jen, which she attributes to her wide range of interests and job skills. Combining a technical knowledge of algorithms and websites with her love of storytelling and obsession with engagement, she’s avid about leveraging the good that can come from health data and metrics.

Outside of work, Jen is active in mutual aid and community fundraising for the Sacramento Food Bank and other organizations. She loves being a Californian and exploring its beautiful outdoor spaces, especially with her husband Kurt and dog Gracie.
